Filleting knife
A Filleting knife, or Slicing knife, is designed to be long, slim and very flexible. It is extremely sharp and makes use of a finely pointed tip designed for piercing through the skin. Once through, the slim blade allows for intricate bone removal.
The aesthetic is very similar to a boning knife, however, is significantly thinner and more flexible. This slim, flexible blade is the ideal option for removing bones delicately, whilst ensuring no damage to the fish. They are used horizontally, rather than vertically like most other knives available.
The Filleting knife allows chefs to cut through the backbone of the entire fish in order to create the perfect fillet. The design is perfect for many different types of fish which allows the chef to experiment with a range of new dishes.
High quality steel
The Damascus steel is an old craft that originates in Syria with inspiration from India and middle eastern countries. It’s a complicated process of forging steel into a durable and patterned blade. That creates the specific pattern that these knives emulates.
The stainless steel in these knives are ideal for normal everyday kitchen work. You don't have to worry about your knives going dull due to corrosion and the need to sharpen your knives will only occur after long use.
The process of making real Damascus steel increases the quality of the steel types involved in the process. Read more about Damascus steel here. This kitchen knife set with 3 knives has cores of 7CR17 steel and is plated with Damascus steel pattern.
Ergonomic handle
The handle of our Filleting knife is of dymondwood, which is an impregnated hardwood that has waterproof abilities and is highly temperature resistant. Dymondwood also doesn't warp as natural wood do.
All these characteristics gives it a long lasting quality. It also has a very distinct look which is often used for design purposes. Read more about dymondwood here. The handle is crafted in an ergonomic shape.
