G10

G10 Thermoset Plastic

Built as a thermoset plastic laminate, G10 has a few important benefits. It’s a very stable material, meaning it doesn’t expand or contract in extreme temperatures. It’s also very hard to break G10. Finally it’s also light weight, which is ideal for tools such as kitchen knives. Additionally it’s possible to create many patterns and colors, good for design reasons.

G10 is built by high pressure treatment of many layers of meshed fiberglass cloth. This is earlier impregnated by a resin binder. From this process comes the material called G10. It’s used in circuit boards, gun handles, but of most interest to us, in kitchen knife handles.

The grip doesn’t turn slippery when wet. The lower weight reduce effort during long kitchen hours. Variations of colors, shapes, design and textures allows crafting the handle exactly to ones liking.

Why not try a knife with G10 handle. We’re sure you want be disappointed. Have a look, for example, at our black knife set of VG10 steel with G10 handles. Great quality for a relatively low price.
